Mexican Hot Chocolate: Inspired by the Luxurious Four Seasons

I once swam in this pool in Mexico.
It was a work trip...an *agonizing* work trip....

Here is the adult pool...find some shade or SUNSCREEN!

The lobby is open air... and art abounds....
you can enjoy some fresh fruit juice with the view and breezes...

Your room elevates you to a truly blissful state of mind... and this is where you can discover Mexican Hot Chocolate, brought to you by room service...

much needed tlc with the work trip...

There you are, drinking your Mexican Hot Chocolate at the
Four Seasons in Punta Mita, Mexico. Sweet Dreams!

Whether you are relaxing somewhere warm and toasty or if you are just trying to stay warm and toasty... this does the trick.

Build and customize the following
All Recipes suggestion or try this one from Taste of Home as you like, the key is to add cinnamon and the chili powder... just a touch!

One more from Tyler Florence at Food Network... thanks M.J. for suggesting real chocolate!

mushy warning!!! ...and now, back to watching Bridget Jones's Diary with Mr. Wonderful. When Mark Darcy tells Bridget that he likes her,
just as she is, it makes us both smile.

in the ending film with the credits... he says the little girl at the birthday party is me... she is having a big piece of chocolate birthday cake, swigging something bubbly, and swimming in the pool... then she kisses him... and this makes us smile, too... ;)

maybe tomorrow he will make me some Mexican Hot Chocolate...

  2. Oh that DOES look like it was a very tough trip!

You know what makes GREAT mexican hot chocolate? Abuelita. You will find the bar in walmart either in the hispanic food section or where hot chocolate is. Delish, too!

  4. I love Mexican hot chocolate! The drink is not traditionally made with syrup though... Try making it with melted bars of unsweetened cocoa (you'll need to add sugar)--you will not be disappointed!

  6. Ummm, are they hiring at that job? Oh, and Miss Bliss... if you were wondering what to get me for Christmas, a nice getaway like this would work. ;)
I just made a vat of hot choc (okay, a crock pot of it) for Big Sis's bday party. Afterwards, we added some coconut rum to the leftovers and yummy!! :)

  8. M.J. is right... we should use real chocolate instead of syrup... that is what I usually do when I have the choice of the two! ;)

  10. Chocolate, chocolate, oh my! I haven't even heard of several of your chocolate companies - guess I'm not the chocolate connoisseur I thought I was! LOL! I was just stopping by to say THANK YOU for entering the Great Cakes Soapworks giveaway at Muthering Heights. Best wishes to you! (And no, the Peanut Butter & Chocolate soap does NOT taste so good!) :)

I think I could relax in a beautiful place like that. :-) Wow! But since I'm just trying to stay warm where I am (no warm sunshine and tropical breezes here), the hot chocolate recipe sounds good! Have a good weekend...
