This is a lock of hair on the cover above... I wondered what it was about as I began the book...
Today I am beginning this book, Olive Kitteridge, with great anticipation, after just having finished Amy and Isabelle. Amy and Isabelle was one of the very best books I have read in a very long time: mother, daughter, lovers, friends, secrets, just SO TRUE TO LIFE.In fact I was a little sad to see it end... It is a great summer book, since the story takes place over a summer...just a truly beautifully written book to enjoy.
Any other good recommendations out there? Thanks!!! Hope you are enjoying your summer reading, too...

i haven't these yet, but i just ordered "The Reliable Wife" "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" (heard good review of this one) and "The Third Angel" - look them up on amazon, sounds pretty interesting. anything anita shreve makes me happy - "The Last Time They Met" is fave book ever! oh, another faaave of mine is "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan"

Ohh! I love a good book. I'm currently delving into The Pact by Jodi Picoult, and i like it alot so far. I really enjoyed the book, Something Borrowed, by Emily Giffin, it was a quick read and really enjoyable. PS, thanks so much for the advice on my blog! It really got me thinking about how he cut communicatoin with and thinks he can walk back into my life whenever he pleases. Him thinking he can get anything he wants from me ....not happening anymore! I've decided to leave things the way they are and just ignore him for now, its probably for the best, and one day i'll find the right person, who won't take me for granted. =] Thanks so much for you advice, you are very wise! =]

ReplyDeleteAnd, Lissa Marie, I have had more than my fair share of heartbreak, and if it sounds like anything familiar in that neighborhood, I will try say so if asked!!! I wish I would have saved myself a lot of heartache in the past, but had to learn the hard way. I actually spent the ages of 29-33 totally single, healing my heart up, doing my thing! Best thing for me...although it was sooo hard at the time.
I tried to make a lot of things work that had not worked, and kept hoping for a different ending... I learned that sometimes "an *ending* can be a happy ending..." no matter how difficult it may seem while you are in the middle of it. Make room for the joy!!! Hugs!!!
