After searching high and low, I can finally say,
here it is: my new vanity!
here it is: my new vanity!
It has a curved, leather-covered top.
It would be cute facing either way, the other side is perfect.
The drawers on the right are actually two; the left is one tall drawer.
I love it! Could be because I had a French Provincial set growing up... this is my favorite shot, thanks to my photographer, Mr. Wonderful! This view reminds me of Annechovie...I love her artwork...so fanciful and lovely!
Did I say I love it? It was a mere $60 for both pieces on Miami's Craigslist.
This one is listed on Miami Craigslist for $300. I was loving it, but not the price. I could not believe how similar they are and that I found the second one!

The scary 80's vanity...I saw other scary ones in oak, too scary to post, maybe on Halloween. ;)
The $499 Pottery Barn model with "smart plug system"
How did I survive until now without one? I've been looking around for a while now, checking out Ikea's vanity, West Elm's vanity, various other ones online, various Craigslist postings, and, finally...
...after feeling like Goldilocks and her three beds: one vanity was too plain, one too big, one too ornate, one too expensive...the cutie at the top is what I finally found.
I had plans to paint it and change out the knobs with some of the cute ones like Anthropologie's, but when I got it home, it just seemed fine in its present state. I may change it up eventually, but for now, my inner amateur interior designer is very excited! I love all the old Hollywood-era glamour it inspires!
Finally, a central place for jewelry, makeup, OPI nail polish bottle collection, and all the other girlie items...a place to do makeup, fix hair, and just be girlie!
Do you think I should keep it as is or mix it up?
xxoo, newly girl-ified Miss Bliss
Oh my what a find. Well done it is perfect.
ReplyDeleteThanks.. it was quite a process but well worth it now...sometimes it just takes a while :)
ReplyDeleteKeep it as is!!!! You can always change it later when you feel like a new look... I have a little bench that I have painted/transformed 3 times LOL... and it of course came from craigslist, my new BFF :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute! absolutely perfect find - i definitely like it the most out of your options. good lord that 80s one... haha
ReplyDeleteThe only think i could see doing is checking out anthropolgies amazing hardware and finding some fun knobs for it - but it looks great as is!
Great find!
ReplyDeleteSometimes it takes a lot of patience, but if you keep looking, there's a good chance you'll find what you're looking for on Craigslist :-)
ReplyDeleteNice vanity :-) I think glass knobs would look really good, and would be perfect for that Hollywood glam look. Otherwise, I'd leave it as it is. You can always paint it down the road if you get the urge for a change.
Kelly

ReplyDeleteSpeaking of TJ Maxx.......... OH MY GOSH, I TOTALLY SCORED YESTERDAY.
I HAVE TO WRITE A POST ABOUT IT GREAT STUFF IN THERE RIGHT NOW.........
I found a WILLIAMS SONOMA linen table runner for 14.99 !! It's perfect for my house.
was 69.99 !!
I love your vanity and what a great deal! Thanks also for the mention and have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic find!
ReplyDeleteI've always loved using a vanity for all my girly and necessary needs, but our current home is just too small. So... I'm using our antique roll-top desk, positioned in the dining room! It's perfect really ~ drawers to store my stuff AND I can hide any desk-top mess by simply rolling shut the front. Almost perfect!
If you ever do decide to re-finish the vanity and chair, consider a fun colour - I posted about painted furniture once on DesignTies 'cause I'm kinda addicted! :-) Search it out if you're looking for inspiration.
